Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district, shared her views on various political issues through a series of tweets. These posts reflect her stance on government funding, legal protections for children, and community engagement under the Trump administration.

On February 19, 2025, Rep. Jayapal emphasized the role of government as an entity funded by and for the people. She criticized former President Trump and Republicans for attempting to "dismantle democracy" and providing tax cuts to large corporations and wealthy individuals. She stated that Democrats will continue their efforts to improve governance: "Government is funded by the people, for the people, to do the work of the people..."

Later that day, she expressed concern over Trump's decision to end a program offering legal representation to unaccompanied children. She highlighted the increased vulnerability these children face without such protections: "Trump just ended a program that gave legal representation to unaccompanied children..."

In another tweet posted on February 19, 2025, Rep. Jayapal recounted hosting a community forum attended by nearly 1,000 constituents. The event focused on collective actions moving forward during Trump's presidency: "Last night I hosted a community forum with nearly 1,000 constituents in attendance!"
