Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a U.S. Congress member representing Washington's 7th district since 2017, recently expressed her concerns over various political issues through a series of tweets. Her statements addressed potential cuts to Medicaid, the financial actions of notable figures, and housing costs impacted by tariffs.

On March 6, 2025, Rep. Jayapal criticized Republican members of the Budget Committee for not supporting her amendment aimed at protecting Medicaid. She stated: "Republicans said they wouldn’t cut Medicaid. But in the Budget Committee, not a single one of them voted for my amendment to protect that health care for 78 million Americans." She further claimed that Republicans are planning to cut Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare.

Later on the same day, she accused Donald Trump and Elon Musk of misappropriating funds from essential social programs. In her tweet at 20:07 UTC, she asserted: "Donald Trump and Elon Musk are stealing from the American people. They’re reaching their hands into Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid — just so they can give tax breaks to billionaires."

At 21:30 UTC on March 6th, Rep. Jayapal addressed housing affordability issues exacerbated by tariffs imposed under Trump's administration. She tweeted: "Housing costs are already through the roof and Trump’s tariffs are a tax on the materials we need to build more homes — that will only make housing more expensive." This was described as another unfulfilled promise by the administration.
