Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district since 2017, recently shared her views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Jayapal, who succeeded Jim McDermott and has been an active voice in politics since her tenure in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016, addressed concerns about healthcare, political integrity, and employment practices.

On March 6, 2025, Rep. Jayapal highlighted the potential impact of Republican policies on healthcare for children in her district. She stated that "31,697 children in my district are on Medicaid." Jayapal expressed concern that Republicans might remove this healthcare support to provide tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals.

The following day, March 7, 2025, she criticized the President's address to Congress. In her view, "The American people deserve better than a President who stands in front of Congress for a speech and just continuously spews lies." This comment reflects her dissatisfaction with what she perceives as misinformation from the nation's leader.

Later on March 7, 2025, Rep. Jayapal commented on employment decisions affecting federal employees. She noted that "Hanna Miller was NOAA’s 2023 employee of the year." Despite this recognition, Miller was reportedly dismissed by former President Trump and Elon Musk. Jayapal criticized DOGE for "indiscriminately firing dedicated and hard-working people."
