Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th District since 2017, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various political issues. Her statements, made on March 9 and 10, 2025, focused on actions taken by former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk that she claims have negatively impacted American citizens.

On March 9, Rep. Jayapal expressed her concerns about mass firings resulting from decisions by Donald Trump and Elon Musk. She stated, "Day after day, I am hearing horrible stories from real people who are now facing incredibly difficult decisions — all thanks to Donald Trump and Elon Musk." She argued that these actions are not enhancing government efficiency but instead displacing skilled workers.

In another tweet posted on March 10, Jayapal criticized tax policies benefiting billionaires at the expense of essential public programs. She claimed that "Trump, Musk, and Republicans are stealing from the American people and the programs we rely on — just so they can pass tax breaks for billionaires."

Further addressing issues related to constitutional rights, Jayapal condemned the deportation of legal residents for expressing political opinions under Trump's administration. On March 10, she tweeted: "The Trump admin is going after students who have used their first amendment Constitutional rights." Highlighting concerns over free speech violations.
