In a tweet posted at 11:05 AM UTC, Rep. Jayapal expressed concern over the influence of Donald Trump and Elon Musk on federal government operations. She stated, "Trump/Musk are making sure corruption sweeps through the federal government more than ever. They've slashed the office that oversaw all federal public corruption cases nationwide to just a few remaining employees."

Later in the day, at 2:06 PM UTC, Rep. Jayapal criticized a Republican spending bill in another tweet. She claimed, "Republicans’ partisan spending bill does two things: 1. It slashes billions from veterans’ health care, cuts food & rental assistance, and jeopardizes Social Security; 2. It also gives a blank check to Trump and Elon to continue dismantling our government." She explained this as her reason for voting against the bill.

At 3:26 PM UTC, she urged Senate Democrats to oppose the same spending bill by following Sen. Patty Murray's example in voting against cloture. In her words, "Senate Dems need to follow the lead of @PattyMurray in voting against cloture and against this GOP, partisan spending bill." She emphasized standing up to efforts perceived as harmful to Social Security and Medicaid.
