Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a U.S. Congress member representing Washington's 7th district since 2017, has voiced her concerns on social media regarding recent actions by prominent figures and their implications for constitutional rights and national security. Jayapal, who has a background in the Washington State Senate and was born in Chennai, India, shared her thoughts through a series of tweets on March 25, 2025.

In one tweet posted at 15:36 UTC, Jayapal criticized the Trump administration's treatment of Mahmoud Khalil. She stated that "What the Trump admin is doing to Mahmoud Khalil — disappearing him to an ICE facility because they didn’t like what he had to say — is unconstitutional, full stop." She further expressed concern about the suppression of free speech, equating it with authoritarian practices and urging Americans to be outraged.

Later that day at 18:29 UTC, Jayapal addressed issues surrounding USAID's operations under Elon Musk's influence. She tweeted that "The dismantling and destruction of USAID has been illegal, chaotic, and is a danger to our national security and our American interests." Jayapal accused Musk of terminating life-saving programs despite being an unelected billionaire.

At 19:29 UTC on the same day, Jayapal expressed her views on Social Security policies. In her tweet she claimed that "Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans are destroying Social Security."
