Nordstrom, Inc. issued the following announcement on April 10
Last week, we announced a partnership with Kaas Tailored and Providence to create more than 100,000 masks, and today we're happy to share that we are upping our commitment to create more masks for more locations. Not only are we expanding our partnership with Kaas and Providence, but we've also partnered with Ascension, one of the largest hospital networks in the U.S., to make nearly 1 million medical masks between the two partnerships.
Both partnerships follow the same process, where we are provided the materials to sew into masks that are then returned, sanitized, and distributed throughout the hospital networks. In addition to the locations in Washington, Oregon, Texas and California already making masks, we are starting to leverage our alterations teams in New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Washington DC and Florida.
But we're not stopping there. We're also leveraging alterations teams in our Nordstrom stores to make an additional 60,000 reusable face covers for all our employees still working to fulfill online orders. These face covers are just one of the many practices in place at our facilities to keep employees safe, like enhanced cleaning, social distancing, health screening and more.
