Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell | Ferrell campaign
Three-term Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell is a veteran crime fighter committed to law and order in King County, which makes him perfect for the role of King County Prosecutor.
A former King County Deputy Prosecutor who helped create its Domestic Violence Court Unit, Ferrell has been endorsed by almost a dozen police organizations as well as U.S. Rep. Adam Smith. In their endorsement of Ferrell, the Seattle Times described him as having “the experience, priorities and people skills to become only the fifth person to serve in this important position in seven decades.”
In total, he has worked 20 years as a prosecutor and has called for reforms to the county’s Restorative Pathways Community program for juvenile offenders that currently operates entirely outside the court system. During that time, he won numerous awards for using CPR to revive an opposing defense attorney in a courtroom and successfully chasing down a defendant who fled during a courtroom appearance.
Ferrell is also among a group of south King County mayors to have called for a crackdown on rising crime in the region.
