On December 13, 2024, Rep. Jayapal addressed the failed merger between Kroger and Albertsons as an example of how Democrats succeed when they "stand up to corporate monopolies" and focus on protecting jobs while advocating for lower costs and higher wages. She emphasized that these are critical issues impacting poor and working families every day. "The failed Kroger-Albertsons merger is a great example — Dems do best when we stand up to corporate monopolies, fight to protect jobs, and push for lower costs and higher wages."

Later the same day, she highlighted the importance of expanding mental health resources for young people. Jayapal praised Seattle's efforts to provide free and accessible mental health services, underscoring that mental and behavioral care is an essential part of healthcare. "Expanding mental health resources for young people is so incredibly important."

On December 14, 2024, Jayapal criticized a tax plan proposed by former President Donald Trump and his associates. She warned that this plan would significantly increase the national deficit by $4.6 trillion, arguing that such financial strategies are unsustainable for the country. "The tax scam that Trump and his rich buddies are planning would add $4.6 TRILLION to our nation’s deficit."
