Seattle, WA – The Nordic Innovation Summit, traditionally held in Ballard, has announced new dates for its 2025 conference. Originally set for May, the event will now take place on October 21-22. This annual summit brings together leaders from various sectors to discuss innovation and explore economic and cultural exchange opportunities.
The change in schedule aims to address recent challenges and opportunities between the Nordic countries and the United States. In light of a changing international landscape, the summit poses the question: what can be learned from Nordic innovation?
"We recognize that we are at a crossroads today. Like our ancestors, we can create a new future, where both America and the Nordics thrive through the interchange of ideas. At the core of innovation is openness and collaboration — characteristics needed more than ever,” said Lāth Carlson, NNM Executive Director and CEO.
Aligning with significant events such as the 200th anniversary of Norwegian immigration to America and One Ocean Week, this year’s summit seeks to enhance its impact by connecting past cultural intersections with future global perspectives.
"The Nordic Innovation Summit is a powerful reminder that around the world, leaders, innovators, and communities are grappling with the same issues—and finding creative, forward-thinking solutions," stated Marko Liias, Washington State Senator.
Participants will include business leaders from across the Pacific Northwest and worldwide. Past speakers have featured notable figures like Jay Inslee; Guðni Jóhannesson; Mikko Hautala; Peter Zonneveld; Karin Ekdahl Wästberg; Chris Levesque.
The 2025 Nordic Innovation Summit continues its mission of cross-sector collaboration under the Nordic model to address global issues through innovative solutions.
