Remembering Officer Fred D. Carr

The Seattle Police Department recently issued the following announcement on Feb 26.

The Seattle Police Department remembers and honors Officer Fred D. Carr, who died on this day in 1973. Carr was one of several SPD officers called to the home of an 18-year-old Seattle high school senior, who armed himself with a shotgun when he grew upset after losing a card game. Officers announced themselves before entering the teen’s home, but the teen jumped out of a closet and fired once, killing Carr.
