The Seattle Police Department remembers and honors Detective Antonio M. Terry who died on this day in 1994. Detective Terry was driving his undercover SPD vehicle when he stopped to help a man who waved him down near the Swift-Albro off-ramp. As the Detective walked back to his car, someone in the man's vehicle yelled “He’s a cop” and opened fire. Terry was shot in the back but was able to drive himself to the South Precinct, where he gave descriptions of the suspects to his fellow officers. Detective Terry died at Harborview Medical Center a few hours later, survived by his wife and three children.
