In our next season, we're Taking Steps! Read below to learn more about our shows. We can't wait to bring you more theatre joy next year... until then, stay tuned for audition announcements in the fall, and more ways to get involved with SPU Theatre. We hope you have an amazing summer!
MRS PACKARD:
Illinois, 1861: Without proof of insanity, Elizabeth Packard is committed by her husband to an asylum. Based on historical events, Emily Mann’s play tells of one woman’s struggle to right a system gone wrong.
THE 39 STEPS:
A man with a boring life gets caught up in a web of spies, murder, and mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps”! Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have Patrick Barlow’s wildly inventive comedy, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre!
QUEER STORIES:
A beautiful evening of three one-act plays, led by student and alumni directors, that chronicle queer love and relationships. QUEER STORIES includes Murmurs by Scott Sickles, The Marriage Tree by Alison Cummins, and Letters for Adelaide by Grace Everett.
EVERYBODY:
This modern riff on the fifteenth-century morality play Everyman follows Everybody (chosen from amongst the cast by lottery at each performance) as they journey through life’s greatest mystery—the meaning of living.
