Rep. Pramila Jayapal, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 7th district, has been vocal on social media about her political views and concerns regarding current administration policies. Her recent tweets reflect a critical stance on issues ranging from governmental appointments to defense spending and economic inequality.

On December 11, 2024, Rep. Jayapal commented on President Trump's nominations for his administration, highlighting the wealth of those selected. She stated, "Trump has now nominated TEN BILLIONAIRES to his administration, with their total net worth above $350 billion." She expressed concern over the implications of these nominations by stating that it appears Trump is preparing to serve "himself and his rich buddies."

On December 12, 2024, she addressed her decision to vote against increasing the Pentagon's budget. In her tweet, she remarked on the fiscal management within the Department of Defense: "Yesterday, I voted NO on increasing the already bloated Pentagon budget." Jayapal cited repeated audit failures as evidence that defense spending is excessive and advocated for redirecting funds towards community investments.

Later that same day, Rep. Jayapal tweeted about economic disparities experienced over several decades. She noted wage stagnation despite significant economic growth and emphasized the need for policy changes: "Over the last 50 years, wages have stagnated... It’s time to lower costs..." Her call was for measures aimed at supporting poor and working families while addressing corporate power concentration.
