Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district, has recently shared her thoughts on several pressing issues via social media. Her tweets address topics ranging from data privacy and immigration policy to environmental restoration efforts.

On December 4, 2024, Rep. Jayapal expressed support for the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) efforts in safeguarding Americans' private information from data brokers. She emphasized the need for legislative action by Congress, advocating for the passage of her bipartisan Fourth Amendment is Not for Sale Act alongside Representatives David Davidson and Jerry Nadler. "So great to see @linakhanFTC and the @FTC fighting to protect Americans’ private information from data brokers. Now, it’s time for Congress to take action — let’s pass my bipartisan Fourth Amendment is Not for Sale Act w/ @Rep_Davidson & @RepJerryNadler."

Later that day, she addressed immigration policies in another tweet, criticizing the stance of certain Republican figures regarding legal immigration pathways. She specifically pointed out former President Donald Trump and advisor Stephen Miller's roles in undermining these pathways during their tenure, leaving immigration services in disarray. "When Republicans say they’re OK with immigration as long as it’s legal immigration, don’t believe them. Donald Trump and Stephen Miller spent four years destroying legal pathways and left our immigration services in shambles. They have no interest in a system that works."

On December 5, 2024, Rep. Jayapal celebrated an environmental success story regarding Kokanee salmon returning to Lake Sammamish due to ongoing restoration efforts. She highlighted the importance of continuing these initiatives to preserve both the salmon population and the ecosystem significant to the Snoqualmie people. "It’s great to finally see Kokanee salmon returning to Lake Sammamish! Environmental restoration efforts are working and it’s critical to continue them to protect these salmon for the Snoqualmie people and our unique ecosystem."
