Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a U.S. Congress member representing Washington's 7th district, has attracted attention with three recent social media posts. Active in Congress since 2017, Jayapal has used these messages to express her views on multiple pressing issues.

On April 22, 2025, Jayapal highlighted the ongoing debate regarding climate change. She stated, "Today is Earth Day. 97% of scientists believe in climate change. 72% of Americans believe in climate change. But Donald Trump calls climate change a “hoax” — and he’s destroying our planet just to make his Big Oil buddies even richer." This statement underscores her concern about former president Donald Trump's stance on environmental issues.

Later that same day, at 19:43 PM, Jayapal succinctly expressed a call for action, posting, "Fire Pete Hegseth." This statement implies dissatisfaction with the individual mentioned, likely related to recent political or media activities.

In a subsequent post in the evening at 21:54 PM, Jayapal addressed issues concerning transgender youth. She asserted, "Only 1.4% of kids are trans. Yet Republicans have made it their mission to try and bully this population out of existence by telling them they don’t belong. It’s absolutely shameful. I will ALWAYS stand up for trans kids." Her statement reaffirms her commitment to supporting trans children amidst a politically charged climate.

Jayapal, who first began serving in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2017 after replacing Jim McDermott, continues her advocacy from Seattle, where she resides at 57 years of age. She has an academic background from Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
