In another tweet from the same day, she recounted a call from a concerned constituent who was pregnant and reliant on Medicaid. The constituent expressed fear about what recent changes could mean for her future family. Jayapal questioned how Americans could be expected to live with such uncertainty and attributed this anxiety to presidential actions: “I’m pregnant and rely on Medicaid. I’m terrified about what this means for me, my pregnancy, and my future family.”

A further tweet shared an account from an individual dependent on Medicaid, Section 8 Housing, and SNAP benefits who felt that a funding freeze posed a critical threat to their life. Rep. Jayapal criticized the former president's actions as unconstitutional and harmful: “I rely on Medicaid, Section 8 Housing, and SNAP. This funding freeze is life or death for me.”
