Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a U.S. Congress member representing Washington's 7th district, recently shared her views on various political developments through a series of tweets. These tweets reflect her stance on actions taken by former President Donald Trump and legislative decisions impacting immigration and infrastructure.

On January 22, 2025, Rep. Jayapal criticized former President Trump for pardoning individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol riot. She stated, "Trump just pardoned 1,500 rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan 6, and now Republicans are creating a committee to try & distract from the events of that day." She emphasized that the events of January 6 were an attack on democracy.

The following day, January 23, she addressed the passage of the Laken Riley Act by the House. In her tweet at 15:13 UTC, she expressed concern over its implications for undocumented immigrants, stating that it aids Trump's deportation plans and asserting that "Undocumented immigrants, like everyone else, deserve due process and a fair trial."

Later that day at 17:26 UTC, Rep. Jayapal commented on Trump's campaign promises versus his actions regarding infrastructure funding. She remarked that although Trump campaigned on strengthening America for average citizens, he halted funding from the Infrastructure Law immediately upon taking office. Her tweet read: "Promises made, promises already being broken."
