Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a U.S. Congress member representing Washington's 7th district, has been vocal on various issues through her social media presence. Her recent tweets address concerns regarding immigration enforcement policies, federal funding freezes, and budgetary proposals.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Jayapal expressed concern over the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She stated that "ICE policy says they cannot arrest or detain U.S. citizens." She further noted that under former President Trump's direction, ICE had reportedly done so, raising fears of racial profiling in communities of color across America. She mentioned collaborating with Rep. Raskin to demand answers on this issue.

Later that day, she criticized the ongoing federal funding freeze initiated during Trump's administration. In her tweet at 21:43 UTC, she highlighted its impact by stating "Trump’s federal funding freeze is STILL harming communities and organizations across the country." She emphasized that no family should fear school closures due to resource withholding and called for the release of funds.

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Jayapal addressed budgetary concerns in a tweet referencing Elon Musk and DOGE's involvement in balancing the federal budget. She proposed an alternative solution by suggesting "Instead of gutting USAID (which is less than 1% of our federal budget), let’s pass my Ultra Millionaire Tax Act." This act is projected to generate $3 trillion over ten years.
