Pramila Jayapal criticizes rising egg prices and arms sales to Israel

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district, shared her views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets on March 18, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 14:21 UTC, Rep. Jayapal addressed the recent rise in egg prices, stating that "Egg prices have risen 10.4% in the past month and are 60% more expensive than this time last year." She criticized former President Trump's economic policies by adding, "So much for Trump lowering costs on day one."

Later that day at 16:24 UTC, she announced her legislative efforts regarding arms sales to Israel. In collaboration with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, she introduced resolutions to halt these sales, expressing concern over their impact on violence in the region. She tweeted, "Last month, I introduced resolutions with @RepRashida to halt offensive weapons sales to Israel. We cannot allow American bombs to continue to fuel this violence."

In another tweet at the same time, Rep. Jayapal commented on recent Israeli military actions and their humanitarian consequences in Gaza. She stated that "New Israeli strikes have killed more than 400 & injured more than 500 people." She highlighted the lack of essential aid entering Gaza and accused Israel of violating a ceasefire agreement.
