Rep. Pramila Jayapal, serving the U.S. Congress for Washington's 7th district, recently shared her views on key issues through a series of tweets. Jayapal, who has been a Congresswoman since 2017 and formerly served in the Washington State Senate, used this platform to address foreign policy, trade, and domestic politics.

On April 3, 2025, Jayapal expressed gratitude to her colleagues for supporting a Senate measure championed by Senator Bernie Sanders aimed at blocking offensive weapons sales to Israel. She articulated her stance on international law, writing, "Grateful to those who voted for @SenSanders measure to block offensive weapons sales to Israel, a measure I have also introduced in the House. Israel has used US weapons to violate international law and the US cannot continue being complicit in this war."

In another tweet dated April 4, 2025, the Congresswoman addressed economic policy, particularly critiquing the tariffs implemented by former President Donald Trump. She remarked on the importance of tariffs as an economic tool while arguing against their current application with Trump in office. Jayapal commented, "Tariffs can be an incredibly useful tool to invest in American jobs and manufacturing, but that is clearly not what Trump is doing. Lastly, on the same day, she issued a criticism of Republican actions, particularly regarding constitutional principles, stating concerns over adherence to the Constitution's checks and balances. The Congresswoman noted, "It’s becoming increasingly clear that Republicans have stopped caring about the Constitution’s checks and balances. They’re OK with destroying free speech and ignoring the courts — as long as their Dictator-in-Chief Donald Trump says so."
