Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district, has shared her views on social and economic issues through a series of tweets dated April 7, 2025. In a tweet posted on April 7, Jayapal highlighted the ongoing wage disparities affecting AANHPI women, stating that "Today — April 7 — AANHPI women finally catch up to what their white male counterparts made last year." She urged Congress to "pass the Paycheck Fairness Act to level the playing field," emphasizing the impact of wage gaps on income inequality.

Jayapal further addressed the issue of social security cuts in a tweet posted later that day, criticizing what she termed "Musk's DOGE (Dept of Greed & Ego)." She argued that the measures equate to a direct reduction in Social Security, asserting that "it isn’t about cutting waste, it’s about Musk trying to eliminate Social Security." She encouraged constituents to "demand your GOP Congressmembers stand up to him."

In a subsequent post, Jayapal referenced additional information regarding these cuts, directing followers to "this other piece on this Musk-Social-Security-Elimination Plan, here’s another reference on the devastation he is causing." This underscores her stance on preserving Social Security against perceived threats from influential figures.
