Pramila Jayapal, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 7th district, has posted tweets on various pressing issues over the last two days. Her tweets cover topics ranging from cuts in public health funding to customs and border protection practices, as well as specific cases involving judicial rulings.

On April 6, Jayapal tweeted about the adverse impacts of cuts in public health funding. She stated, "Vaccine programs, disease surveillance, and hundreds of other essential jobs — completely gutted with a stroke of a pen. Cutting this funding and these jobs will both cost lives and put dedicated professionals out of a job. This is reckless and pointless." Her statement emphasized the potential dangers and job losses resulting from these cuts.

In a separate tweet dated April 7, Jayapal addressed issues concerning the well-being of individuals in custody by Customs and Border Protection agents. She noted, "When Customs and Border Protection agents take a person into custody, they are responsible for their well-being — full stop. There is zero excuse for agents not being able to verify if necessary welfare checks were done. There must be accountability." This highlights her call for responsibility and oversight within the agency.

On the same day, she discussed a case involving federal courts and a deported individual named Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia. Jayapal tweeted, "Two federal courts have ordered the Trump admin to return Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia to his US citizen wife & child in Maryland. The admin already admitted they wrongly deported him. They cannot continue defying judicial rulings. Bring Kilmar back NOW." Her tweet sheds light on the insistence that the legal order be followed without further delay.
