"Trump has zero idea what he’s doing. He’s playing games with the global economy because he doesn’t care about the impact on your life." This tweet, posted on April 9, 2025, reflects Jayapal's critical view of former President Trump's handling of economic affairs.
"Republicans are stealing from you so they can lower taxes for the biggest corporations and wealthiest billionaires like Elon Musk. Gold bars for them and crumbs for us. That’s why I’m voting NO on the Republican budget bill that betrays the middle class." In a subsequent tweet posted later on April 9, 2025, Jayapal criticizes the Republican budget bill, highlighting her opposition to tax cuts that, according to her, favor wealthy individuals and corporations to the detriment of the middle class.
"Republicans' budget bill is so bad that they can’t even get their own party to vote for it. Embarrassing. Democrats will keep saying NO to cutting Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for billionaires." On April 10, 2025, she continued her critique by questioning the viability of the Republican budget bill, which lacks support even from Republican members of Congress. Jayapal reaffirms her and her party's commitment to preserving Medicaid funding.
